Here's the news you want the most: Mercury version 1.0 is DONE.
The game WILL be out tomorrow. No delays.
Future updates will fix the very little that is broken, as well as add an extra layer of polish to the second act that I simply didn't have time for.
Expect it out at about 5pm Central.

This is a no post blog post. I did nothing on Mercury today. No, today I moved back into my dorm room. And, after accidently driving into a snow bank whilst attempting a uturn and being pushed out by some nice fellow Minnesotains, I didn't exactly feel like it either. I'll try my hardest to release the game on Tuesday, just have to finish the story....

Just a quick update today. I finally finished the level editor, though I did not make any big changes like I had planned. This means that all mods you may be making will be fully compatible with the final version of the game. I worked a bit on the story, but I am only about half done with it. So, yeah, I'm a little behind. I'm going to drop the arena for now, and get on with finishing the game. It's being released on Tuesday! No exceptions.
Oh, and I will be uploading the finished level editor tomorrow so that any in the work mods can be completed before the games release. And if your name is Kausill or Blindspot Software, I will include your mod with the game itself, if you want.

I am a bit behind schedule on Mercury at the moment, though I am positive that the release date will be met. Today I did some fine tuning of the final boss, as well as create a nice scrolling credit sequence. I'll be working really hard a little later tonight. But anyway, here's the credits that I wrote:

Well, surprise surprise! I decided to take a break from Mercury today, only having started back on it about an hour ago. Needless to say, this means that I haven't yet finished the level editor and am quite a few hours worth of work away from completing the final boss. I'll be working for about another 40 minutes before I take another break to watch the Microsoft CES Keynote (major Microsoft fanboy here!). Here's a screenshot of where the final boss will be fought at. It's a far cry from the over the top arena-like setting of the first boss:
